A MEETING WAS HELD IN THE BOYS SCHOOL ON TUESDAY 18TH OCTOBER 2016 TO SET UP A NEW PARENTS ASSOCIATION. THE FOLLOWING PARENTS WERE ELECTED

Committee Members: Lynda Moran, Sharon Francis,Orla Anderson, Noelle Brereton & Louise Mullen.
Allenwood Parents Association was set up in March 2003 by a few parents who were interested in helping out and supporting the schools in any way possible. A committee was formed consisting of between 10 and 12 parents representing both schools and a cross section of ages in the schools. You will hear from the Parents Association from time to time with information or perhaps looking for help and ideas.
The following are some of the areas that the Parents Association are involved in:
Fundraising Some fundraising events are organised from time to time. The Parents Association apply for grant aid from outside agencies to improve the school and school grounds. To date we have been able to improve our school garden and our sports facilities.
Classroom Help: Each year parents volunteer to help in the school in the following areas: swimming, knitting, basketball, football, supervision, reading groups, computers, art & school trips etc.
